Her parents left the US with the desire to teach others about the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Warren and Shirley Keiper went to Brazil and served as missionaries for 42 years. Bernardo came to know Jesus Christ through Warren and subsequently studied with him for several years, eventually marrying his daughter Carol. Bernardo and Carol then started ministering in local ministries, and later were invited to serve as missionaries in Brazil. In these 40 years serving as missionaries in Brazil, Bernardo and Carol have planted five churches and are currently working in the planting of another church nearby. Through their ministry opportunities, they have been able to impact the lives of many families in different cities in the southern part of Brazil.
